Bundles 1.4 is the version as of January 31, 1994.
Instructions for use:
Drop onto your startup drive, anywhere you please.
Rebuild your desktop file.
Enjoy icons to the documents you don't have applications for!
Contributors:
Joshua Harriman for the MacWrite icons and several color icons!
Andy Fragen for new StuffIt icons!
Noted quirks:
If a resource within deals with one of your applications, you may lose the specific icons! This is a quirk of the way the Finder deals with applications . The only way to correct it is to place it near the beginning of the rebuild loop. Place a space at the beginning of the System Folder's name, and place Bundles loose within it. This has been confirmed as a fix for the problem! You can also create another folder at the root window of the drive named "Additionals" and place Bundles in there to achieve the same effect. Bundles does have the icons for Expert Color Paint, ClarisWorks, Stuffit, Compact Pro, America On-Line, TeachText, and MacWrite, however. I will work on getting other icons as I go.
Bundles is HybridWare! You can use it all you want! Give it to as many friends as you can!
If you want upgrades, you can do one of three things:
Send me $7 dollars (Make checks payable to Jeffrey Crouch), and I will place you on the upgrade list!
Send me a disk (800k or 1.4Mb) of text, SND files, and graphic files of any of the following:
Japanese Animation
Star Trek
Star Wars
Doctor Who
Iron Man
Red Dwarf
Bloom County/Outland
Send me pieces to place within Bundles. Under System 7, take a document of the type that gets an icon replaced, despite you having the application. Disable Bundles (by rebuilding the desktop with it removed), copy the icon and paste it back onto the document, then send the document(s) on an 800k or 1.4Mb floppy to me. If you're a ResEdit hacker, feel free to create new BNDLs and ICN#s for inclusion. Either will get you a special notice within Bundles!
Feel free to E-mail me any of the above files as well for upgrades! Upgrades will be E-mailed back. Give me time to do this either way you go! As a college student I have demands on my time, so I can't give as much as I'd like to support.

Bundles is guaranteed not to screw up your system, as it's so lazy it sits on it's electronic butt all day! All it does is pass off icon data to the Finder when it builds the desktop file. All this is done through documented features within the System software. It adheres to all Apple Computer guidelines for development! All you have to worry about is a slightly larger Desktop file, but that isn't much to pay for the added icons on your system!
